Pursuant to Article IX, Section 5 of the Braddock District Council Bylaws, notice is hereby given of the slate of candidates to be voted on at the annual Council election meeting.



Date and Time: Wednesday, 19 June, 2024, at 7 p.m.



Location: Braddock Hall, 9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke, VA 22015 (adjacent to the Braddock District Supervisor’s office and the Kings Park Library)



Slate of Candidates:

• Chair: Robert Cosgriff (Hickory Farms Community Association)

• Vice-Chair: Marie Norman (North Springfield Civic Association)

• Secretary: Susan DiMaina (Canterbury Woods Civic Association)

• Treasurer: Barbara Smith (Woodbury Woods Civic Association)

Other nominations may be made prior to the meeting by emailing the BDC Secretary at bdcfxsecretary@gmail.com or from the floor at the time of the meeting. Nominees must be members of associations in good standing at the time of the meeting.



Election Information:

• Only associations in good standing (i.e., paid-up dues for the current 2023-2024 Council year) are eligible to participate in the election

• A quorum of seven associations in good standing is required to conduct the election

• Each eligible association is entitled to the number of votes (from 1 to 4) allotted based on association size

• Eligibility to vote will be confirmed at the meeting prior to the balloting

• In the event that there is only one candidate for each office, the Chair will entertain a motion to elect the slate of candidates by acclamation
